Amazing Chalk Stream in England

This crystal clear stream is in Ovington, Hampshire, UK. I fell in love with this on Instagram where it was posted by stampsandstamps and is shown there as a video showing the moving water of this crystal clear stream. I have never heard of a chalk stream, have you? I hope that's watercress growing on the bottom. Click here to see the video. Enjoy. You're welcome. Have a lovely weekend. xo

I was just browsing back through your posts when I spotted this. I live a 15 minute drive from Ovington, it's near a lovely market town called Alresford, and also Winchester.
The shallow chalk streams are abundant around these parts, and great for Trout fishing along with watercress growing. Alresford has a watercress festival once a year which draws a massive crowd, the high street is closed for all the stalls, many of which have a watercress theme!
I've visited your site for many years and your curation of gorgeous images always makes me smile!
Thank you,

Sarah -- You live in such a beautiful area. I adore watercress and cannot remember the last time I ate it. When I first moved to NJ I lived in a delightful rental cottage on an estate that had a stream where I was able to pick as much as I wanted. Nothing compares to watercress picked from cold waters.
